装飾文様は、異なる国や文化を超えて現存する。それは単なる文様の美しさではなく、装飾という行為が人間と自然の関係から生み出される生命力の象徴であると考えられる。この作品では、古紙幣に描かれた装飾をモチーフとして用いている。古紙幣には、多くの植物をモチーフとしたデザインや、日本らしさを感じさせないオリエンタルや西洋的な装飾が含まれている。それらの図案をデジタル化し、パソコン上で切り抜いて繰り返し配置し、一つのパターンを作成した。その後、金色のペンで直感的にラインを加え、揺らぎのある有機的な表現を生み出している。

Decorative patterns transcend different nations and cultures, continuing to exist throughout time. This is not merely due to the beauty of the patterns themselves but because the act of decoration symbolizes the vitality born from the relationship between humans and nature. In this work, decorative elements found on old banknotes were used as motifs. These banknotes feature many plant-inspired designs, as well as ornamental patterns that feel more Oriental or Western than distinctly Japanese. These designs were digitized, cut out on a computer, and arranged repeatedly to form a single pattern. Subsequently, gold-colored lines were intuitively added by hand, resulting in an organic expression with subtle fluctuations.
